Associates Assembly

Composed of founding and active members who usually meet hold an annual meeting, the Associates Assembly is the highest decision-making body within the Socioenvironmental Institute. Its main functions are the following: deliberate on the activities report, balance sheet, and other financial matters of the organization; elect the Board of Directors; make appointments to the Consultative Council and the Evaluation Committee; make decisions on all organizational issues, with powers to change statutes and dissolve the organization; serve as a forum for recourse of decisions and deliberations made by the Board of Directors; decide on the admission or exclusion of members in any category; approve the general lines of the Institute’s Triennial Plan of Activities and ratify on modifications proposed by the Board of Directors; ratify on establishing new projects; authorize the transfer, exchange, or instituting of liability for the organization’s real estate; and establish cooperation policies with public, private, national, international institutions, bilateral, and multilateral organizations.
