Methodology

 

IBOPE's sample has considered differences in gender, education, family income, age, origin and hometown size and type to compose the universe of people heard (two thousand). The survey was conducted among voting people at 16 or older. The interviews were carried out between Feb 24 and 28, 2000.

 

Sample

Elaborated with proportional quota according to the significant variables:

  • Gender: data from TSE / 1996;
  • Age group: data from TSE / 1996;
  • Occupation: data from Brazilian Geography and Statistics Institute (IBGE) / 1991, adjusted by PNAD / 1996;
  • Geographic location: data from IBGE / 1991.

Data collection

  • Personal interviews using a questionnaire elaborated according to the objectives of the survey.
  • The interviews were carried out by the Brazilian Institute of Survey and Statistics (IBOPE) trained personnel.

Quality control

  • All the questionnaires (100%) were filtered after the interviews.
  • 20% of the questionnaires were checked.
  • The error range is 2% above or below.
