The next edition of Quilombo&Quebrada takes place on Saturday (03/06), at Galpão ZL, Jardim Lapena, east side of São Paulo
The Quilombo&Quebrada organic products fair was born in 2022 to show the need for adequate public food policies that value the production of quilombola communities in Vale do Ribeira, in the southeast of São Paulo.
At the same time, Mulheres de Orì, an innovation consultancy linked to the social impact enterprise Kitanda das Minas, established a partnership with the Quilombola Farmers Cooperative of Vale do Ribeira (Cooperquivale) to market food from quilombola communities. The cooperative receives technical support from the Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) to organize and distribute its production.
The connection proposed by Quilombo&Quebrada contributes to the fight against food inequalities linked to structural racism, which exist both in quilombos and in urban peripheries.
